Connecting Your OK2Charge EV Charger to WiFi
To connect to wifi, you will need to be physically at the charger and have a laptop with you.
- Verify Charger and WiFi: Ensure the charger is correctly installed and that a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection is available. The charger will NOT connect to wifi with a 5 GHz network. You will need to know how to easily identify the 2.4 GHz network when connecting the charger.
- Download and install the VoltiE Customer Setup Tool on your Windows laptop.
- Note: This tool is currently available for Windows only. Mac support is in development and will be available soon.
- Launch the tool and follow the on-screen instructions:
- Reboot your charger by turning it off at the circuit breaker for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- On your laptop, select your home Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password. (Remember, it must be a 2.4 GHz network)
- Wait for the charger to show a blinking blue light.
- Once the blinking blue light appears, click "Connect Start."
- Next, the tool will automatically complete the following steps:
- Connect your laptop to the charger's network.
- Connect the charger to your selected Wi-Fi network.
- Update the charger's firmware to the latest version.
- Clear unnecessary cache and log files that may prevent the charger from coming online.
- Reconnect your laptop to your original Wi-Fi network.
- Generate a troubleshooting log file.
The charger’s LED indicator light should turn white within a few minutes, which indicates it is connected to Wi-Fi.
